Useful Links:
The GGS Big Farm Forum is packed with loads of useful information. You should visit the Official Announcements thread often to stay ahead of the game.
The Big Farm Addiction Wiki by Kat Nip2 is stunning and gives lots of useful tips, especially for events.
I wish I'd discovered Larino's Corner earlier in the game. Players new and old are advised to check it out, it is a mine of useful information.
oAISAo4 has developed a neat redecorating tool for rearranging your farm to make the most of available space. Moving a couple of decos into temporary storage in your inventory is a good idea to give you room to manoeuvre - you can easily move them back again once you've created more space.

Making Dollars
- Watering everyone's trees gives you $200 per tree and you can do it twice a day.
- Wildflower seeds cost nothing to buy and you can sell the wildflowers at a dollar a piece. It can take a while to generate money doing this but they grow very fast so stick at it!
- While you are harvesting, click on the little people with speech bubbles - you may only get a pig here and $4 dollars there but it all mounts up.
- Upgrading your dog increases your happiness which lowers your production costs.
- Check out your achievement points. You can access these via the gold cup icon in your toolbar. There are some great rewards to be had, often cash based.
- Upgrading your farm machines can lower production costs, add workers without affecting happiness, increase production in your main farm stables and provide you with an increase in bakery goods: get playing those missions!
- Chickens, as many as you can squeeze in! Because they have such a fast turnover, they yield the most in terms of cash and dung. Check out the production values section on the Main Farm. The corn -> chicken feed -> eggs sequence is also one of the best way to collect items on themed events, and they help in missions too.
- Apples have a far higher turnover than cherries and can be used to feed the Bakery for extra profit. Build 3 Apple orchards for every cherry orchard. Check out the production values section on the Main Farm.
- Steer clear of event farms until you are level 60 or more! They are money pits.
- Always take part in themed events and annual events, the decos at the end are a great source of happiness and they offer good rewards at interim stages too.
- When your bakery is complete, make Apple Turnovers when you are at your computer and Fruit Cake when you are closing down for the night. See the Bakery section of Gourmet Farm for more info.
- When your Shop is complete, make Soap while you are at your computer and honey cream when you are closing down. See the Shop section of the Flower Farm for more info.
- If you haven't got your Shop yet but have the Distillery, make Olive Oil. See the Distillery section of the Flower Farm.
Spending Gold
The game provides small amounts of gold here and there as rewards so players can play for free if they wish. However buying gold will give you game advantages. Should you wish to purchase gold, always wait for a Hot Deal. Quite often you will find it being offered with an extra 50% for free with a very occasional 100% free.
There are good ways and bad ways to spend your gold.

Bad ways of spending gold:
- Buying the bonus for dismantling decos in the Landscape Designer: Cheaper to buy the pieces with gold if you need them.
- Using it to skip production
- Using it to skip building time: If you are rolling in it go ahead, otherwise - learn some patience. Your bank manager will thank you.
Good ways of spending gold:
- Water tower. This reduces the amount of fertiliser and feed needed by your orchards and stables.
- Workshop. This reduces the number of goods needed for production.
- Farm boosters. Pop along to the library and shop till you drop - these really do help to bring in the money!
- Discounted gold mining licenses from Omar's Bazaar
- With gold licences at the mine - turns 2,000 into 4,000 with every license.
Levelling Up
To level up faster you need to increase your experience points. You get these from keeping production buildings active, from buying land and upgrading buildings. Most sidebar events offer experience points as rewards too. You also get them from special event seeds and from premium and special humus, fertiliser and feed.
If you play the Wheel of Fortune enough to make the top 500 players, you will get a 2 day double points bonus. Save premium & special fertiliser, feed & humus as well as event seeds and use them when the bonus activates to ensure you get the most out of them.
Upgrade your dog as fast as you can and train him daily for lots of experience points.
You can still get experience points from running production buildings even if it means producing feed/fertiliser at a loss.
