Projects
Completing projects gives us coop points which increases our rank and gives us mega gloating rights. This is, naturally, very important. It doesn't cost you any money to participate. You can see what project we are running by clicking on the crossed fork and spade on the bottom right of the screen. It shows what we are collecting and how much progress we have made. You contribute simply by harvesting the required items, you do not have to donate or sell them.
The coop front page lists which project we are running. We currently run just 2 a week as people have sunshine to play in (Hurrah!), family to play with(Hurrah!), pressing work/study commitments(Boo!) and a life outside of the coop. Wednesday's project will be a short one along the lines of Movie Experience or Dandelion Hero and on Friday evening we will start a longer one along the lines of Egg Scramble to carry us over the weekend.

Collectibles
In order to start projects we must first assign a given number of collectibles to it. When all components have been collected, the project is outlined in green with a tick beside it. To donate, click on incomplete projects and if you have enough items it will show with a green arrow.
NB: You will need to be around level 40 to have amassed enough collectibles to donate. Do not worry about the sidebar task you get shortly after joining the coop. When you are approaching level 40, check your collectibles against the chart shown at the bottom of this page. If you have enough, inform one of the deputies who will remove the collectibles from that project so that you can donate and complete your task.

Projects have levels assigned to them. The more often we complete a project, the harder it becomes to complete and the higher the rewards are. The amount of collectibles required to start a project will increase every time the project levels up. With this in mind, the following chart of required collectibles is subject to change in future:
